EVENT DETAILS
We open with Living Rhythms an experimental audio-visual performance that explores the past, present, and regenerative futures of rural Ireland. Part of the Dinnseanchas project, this piece is inspired by the Atlantic uplands and the community of Lyreacrompane in North Kerry. Through a collage of sound, visuals, and narrative, Living Rhythms invites audiences to tune into the subtle rhythms of place and reconsider their relationship with rural spaces. Expertly created by Heather Griffin and Patrick Mulvihill both artists-in-residence for Hometree's Dinnseanchas initiative.
Matt and Ray follow with the keynote presentation, framing the challenge and opportunity with breathtaking visuals and sharp narrative, equipping the audience with context and topics the panel will chew over. Followed by a fireside chat with renowned international nature restoration leader Dr Dan Exton of rePLANET. The panel will explore and unpack the nuance, barriers, conflict, opportunities and pathways forward. From what nature and restoration really means, to the role of policy and State, to the fundamental participation of communities and farmers. Learn from the experts what it will really take to meet our ambitious goals and expectations for thriving landscapes across Ireland. The evening will be closed with summary, key takeaways and call to action from Shane McGuinness.

Dublin #9 - Official Partner
Founded in 2014, what began as a tree-planting charity grew into a project that endeavours to deeply connect people with nature, and facilitates a wide variety of fundamental projects to address both Ireland’s declining biodiversity and the unfolding climate challenge. Launching the Wild Atlantic Rainforest Project in 2022, it aims to restore large landscapes and complex ecosystems while remaining connected to the communities living, visiting, and working there is the challenge of our lifetimes. The Wild Atlantic Rainforest Project will address this challenge by protecting fragments of Ireland’s ancient oceanic woodlands and creating new woodlands where they once existed. We envision these wild spaces woven through a patchwork landscape of blanket bogs, species-rich grasslands, and vibrant human communities.
