Cork #5 - Christmas Cracker: A Night for Nature

WHY WE'RE HERE

Five weeks after COP17 wrapped in Yerevan with the first global scorecard on the Kunming-Montreal nature targets, the Climate Cocktail Club lands in Cork for a Christmas edition with teeth — and we’re asking the question most rooms avoid: what if nature didn’t need a seat at the table because it already owned the table?

Ireland’s Citizens’ Assembly put the rights of nature on the national agenda. No European country has yet had the nerve to write them into a constitution. Meanwhile, from the Beara rainforest to the Bride Valley, Cork is already living the argument — land given back its own say, farmers paid for what they let grow, and businesses quietly discovering their balance sheets run on rivers, soil and pollinators.

A Night for Nature brings those threads into one room: the law, the land, the money and the people who refuse to treat nature as a line item. Expect a proper conversation, not a panel of polite nods.
