Time & Location

14 Jun 2023, 12:30 – 13:30

London, CDP headquarters, 4th Floor, 60 Great Tower St, London EC3R 5AZ, UK

About the event

For companies to achieve their climate targets and for the UK to hit net zero requires a step change in climate policies by governments. Companies need to be mobilised to bring about those stronger climate policies. These peer workshops will explore how UK companies are already pushing for better climate policy, what might make them want to be more active in doing so, and how to entice a majority of companies to join them – after all 58% of the FTSE 100 have Science Based Targets.

There won’t be any cocktails at these events! But attendees will get the opportunity to explore the topic with a handful of your peers: other sustainability and public affairs figures from large UK companies.

The workshops will be run by:

  • Paul Dickinson – founder and chair of CDP, the charity which around 60% of global market capitalisation reports its emissions through, and co-presenter of Christiana Figueres’s Outrage & Optimism podcast.
  • Hannah Cool – Director of ESG transformation and technology at PwC UK and founder of rewired.earth, an initiative mapping consumer demand for action on the UN SDGs and how corporates can positively impact them

Discussions will take place under The Chatham House Rule, with selected (unattributed) contributions from the workshops will be sent to all participants in a report.

The workshops will take place on Wednesday 14th June 2023, with two in-person workshops and one virtual:

  • (in-person) 8:30-9:30am (teas, coffees and croissants available from 8am)
  • (via zoom) 10:30-11:30am
  • (in-person) 12:30-1:30pm (sandwiches, teas and coffees available from midday)

The in-person sessions will take place at the CDP headquarters, 60 Great Tower St, London EC3R 5AZ (5 mins from Bank/Monument)

To ensure we create a peer workshop, places are limited to senior sustainability and public affairs figures from large companies operating in the UK. (The whole Climate Cocktail Club London community will be invited to explore the topic at an evening event in the Autumn, where unattributed findings from the workshops will form part of the content shared.)

If you are a senior sustainability and public affairs figures from a large company operating in the UK and are interested in attending, please RSVP below. Alternatively, please pass the email invite on to whoever in your company would be best placed to attend.

We will respond to RSVPs with a fuller agenda and a list of other attendees for your workshop.
